I know this isn't a very good picture but at least I have one...
Pat Sloan uses leftover squares of fabric to make quilts and stitches these squares together as leaders and enders when she's piecing. I did that with blues and neutrals. Then I put pairs together into 4-patches and 4-patches together to make 16-patches, after which I stitched them all together to make this quilt. I think I have 20 16-patches in here.
I quilted it with a sort of flower design and gave it to our local quilt shop, Stewart's Sewing in Mt. Zion, IL, for their charity quilts.
I am going to start working on another quilt using Pat's free block pattern Traffic Jam. I am going to be completely scrappy and hope to use a significant number of the 2 1/2" squares I have been saving up for too long. I have no time frame for getting it done--will work on it as time allows when I'm doing other projects as well. Wish me luck!
PS
I'm working on some projects for this. You have to wait to see those.
That's a pretty blue quilt! I haven't even started my red project yet...I better get busy.
ReplyDeleteTraffic Jam certainly didn't take you very long! I really like your blues quilt. I make leader-enders all the time, but I seem to be on a log cabin kick and have been making 6.5" log cabins for almost two quilts' worth in the last few months!
