My Day for Falling for You with help from Crafter's Edge

I'm excited to be a part of the Falling for You blog hop, hosted by Joan of Moosestash Quilting!

For this hop, I made 4 placemats.

To make these mats, I used Crafter's Edge dies--the hexagon, oak leaves, maple leaves, and a posies set.

I used leftover 2 1/2" strips to make half-hexagons with my 5" hexie die on the Crossover II.

Then I stitched them together into braids.

Here's how the wide part of the half hexie just fits across the top of the braid as you are building it.

Here's one braid done and trimmed.

After cutting out many leaves of various fall colors (I put Heat N Bond light on the fabrics before cutting them.), I ironed them onto 4 placemat backgrounds and stitched the braids to them.

Next I used a machine blanket stitch to applique all the leaves and acorns onto the mats.

After quilting each mat, I machine stitched veins onto the leaves and bound the mats.

Here they are on my table:

One more project I'll share is Shabby Fabrics Year Through Words wall hanging for September.
I've been getting their kits every month, and they have all have been sew cute! The letters and other shapes come laser-cut, so there is no hassle in cutting any of those out. I have October's already (Halloween) and am anxious to get started on it--I bet I'll show it off for the Ghastly Ghouls hop!

Thank you, Joan, for hosting this hop!
Be sure to visit everyone on the hop for lots of fun and inspiration!
